Oh no!!!  Due to a bruised nerve in my hand, song writing is on hold, n’ things will be going VERY slowly (if at all) here with the aminals.  *sigh*
We’ll let you know when things pick up again!

Twins!

Today, I gave birth to a new song. It’s one of those “I like you, but do you like me?” sort of tunes. Maybe we will come up with enough tunes in time for our show!

Also, Sofie sent me a sweet (pun intended) track yesterday… So sweetly called Cookie Dough. Tomorrow, some additional work will have to go into that one!

A Gig!

Well, I suppose it is time to throw ourselves into the fire!  Looks like we’re lining up our first gig for September.  This means some serious music writing and rehearsing until then.  Details to come, so keep posted!

Vocoder dopeness.  An’ wha?

More! More! More!

Okay, so a new tune is in the making! I’d started it maybe a month n’ a half ago, and I just had to put it on the back burner. But, after seeing Impgen Heap this week, I’ve been feeling a bit inspired, and opted to work on music rather than go to yoga (hmmm.. Hot Yoga, or make music? Yoga, or music?…).

Now, the song has developed much more than the two lines, and verse chord progression it once was. But should I change a majority of the lyrics and opt to make it a luuuuv song? Choices… So many choices.

No sleep when there is music to be made!

So, I just finished recording the possible new beginnings of a possible new tune.  I suppose the idea is to write, write, write, so that there are many options to choose from.  I must admit that it feels great to be creating as much as I have lately.

On another note, I just finished sharing Saramoon with my dear friend, Scott Seelig of The Printemps, who also recorded Atlantic Line’s album.  Although it is far from complete, he gave some valuable input, and is also digging the tune!  Could this mean a possible collaboration when recording down the road?

boom boom boom.

can’t wait to set up my baby… this isn’t her only a replica lol.

Paper play.

Paper play.

So, today is a sick day.  Sick days are great for working on music, because you cannot even fathom stepping out the door for any reason.  So, I’ve done a lil’ work on Sofie’s (sorry, Charo’s) new track until she and I get the opportunity to meet up and work on it together.
Inspired by Sofie’s amazing artistry, I decided to add a lil’ “diagram” of my own.  I lack Charo’s creativity, but at least this gives you some insight.  Right?

Another potential Paper Aminals jam was conceived last night.  The epic story goes like this:

I read my friend’s blog.
I picked up my guitar hours later and a phrase from the blog post popped in my head.
I sent Elizabeth a text message/e-mail.

That wasn’t epic at all.  Enjoy my terrible/quick, erm, diagram?
